With a spectacular finale, Primož Roglič secured the overall victory at the 104th edition of the Volta a Catalunya. The 35-year-old Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe leader claimed his second win in the prestigious race, following his 2023 triumph. In addition to the overall title, Primož Roglič also secured two stage victories, as well as the points and mountain classifications.The final stage of the Volta a Catalunya turned into a thrilling battle decided by mere seconds. Primož Roglič started the last stage with a one-second deficit to Juan Ayuso. The strategy for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe was clear: attack. Roglič won the first bonus sprint, taking the virtual lead, but Ayuso responded by winning the second sprint and reclaiming the top spot.<figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="https://bora-hansgrohe-cms.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/Getty_Images_2207613357_a0c09e754c.jpg"></figure>With 21 kilometers to go, Primož Roglič made his decisive move. Primož Roglič triumphs at the Volta a Catalunya

Primož delivered an imposing performance on the slopes of Montserrat to take both the stage victory and the leader’s jersey on Stage 4 of the Volta a Catalunya. Just like yesterday, the stage was decided in a tight two-up battle, but this time it was Primož who outsprinted Juan Ayuso, securing his first win of the season.&nbsp;The 188.7km stage from Sant Vicenç de Castellet to Montserrat provided a challenging test for the peloton, with a final ascent to the historic Montserrat Monastery. The 9km climb, with an average gradient of 6 percent, is one of the most iconic finishes in the Volta a Catalunya. Primož positioned himself well throughout the day, picking up valuable bonus seconds at the intermediate sprint in Manresa, which helped close the gap to Ayuso in the overall standings. As the peloton tackled the final climb, the high pace shattered the group, leaving only the strongest contenders to fight out the win. With 2.5km remaining, Ayuso launched a stinging attack, but Roglič responded swiftly, bridging across to set up a tense final sprint. This time, it was the Slovenian who had the edge, powering past Ayuso in the final meters to claim victory.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img></figure>&nbsp;Speaking at the finish, Primož is optimistic about the albeit tough course still to come at the race:&nbsp;<blockquote>“It’s always nice to win. For sure it was a hard stage, with a fast tempo right from the start. But luckily I had something left at the end to get to the line first! I was at camp and put in some good training. I’ve been away from my family for quite a few weeks, and came straight to the race, so I’ve had to make sacrifices in that respect. So it’s good that it’s brought some rewards at the race. Primož Roglič conquers Montserrat to take Volta a Catalunya lead

The reigning New Zealand U23 time trial champion is joining the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Continental Team with immediate effect. The “Rookies” squad now consists of twelve riders.“We’re excited to bring Nate Pringle into the team. He’s a rider who embodies a smart and instinctive racing style we value. Nate has shown he’s not afraid to take opportunities, commit to the race, and make things happen—qualities that fit perfectly with our philosophy,” says John Wakefield, Director of Development at Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe.In fact, the 21-year-old New Zealander has already achieved several impressive results despite his young age. In early February, he became the New Zealand national time trial champion in the U23 category, leaving his competition far behind. In 2024, he showcased his talent with strong performances at the stage race New Zealand Cycle Classic and in several one-day races in Belgium.“His progression over the past seasons has been steady, and we believe he has the potential to take another step forward in the right environment. Paris-Nice 2025 was a test of resilience, teamwork, and climbing prowess for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. From the first key moments in the team time trial to Florian Lipowitz’s consistent performances in the high mountains, the squad left a strong mark on the race.&nbsp;An early turning point of the week came in the Stage 3 team time trial, where the squad delivered a strong third-place finish, laying the foundation for a competitive GC campaign. The team handled the technical and rolling course with precision, finishing just 25 seconds down on the stage winners, setting up Florian well for the mountainous stages to come.&nbsp;Stage 4 saw him rise to the occasion on the first summit finish of the race. On the steep slopes of La Loge des Gardes, he climbed with the best and secured a strong fifth place, elevating himself to fourth in the general classification. The following day, on Stage 5, he again proved his good form, finishing fifth atop the Côte de Notre-Dame-de-Sciez. On the short, sharp gradients, he surprised even himself, crossing the line just six seconds behind the winner and moving up to third overall, while also donning the white jersey as the best young rider.&nbsp;The ever-unpredictable Stage 6, shaped by crosswinds and grim weather, was a day for survival. Florian showed his growing maturity as a GC contender by positioning himself perfectly, making the key selection, and finishing safely in the front group.&nbsp;Stage 7, shortened due to poor weather, provided one last test before the finale on Sunday. While the day’s action was largely dominated by the breakaway, Florian managed to steal a few seconds on the other GC contenders on the rain-soaked climb to Auron. His move, though small in time gained, was another sign of his determination to fight until the very end. With that effort, he consolidated his second-place position in the GC, sitting 37 seconds behind race leader Matteo Jorgenson with just one stage remaining.&nbsp;On the final stage, a hilly 119 km route starting and finishing in Nice, the GC battle was still open, with the Col des Quatre Chemins serving as the decisive climb of the day. Florian put in a solid ride, ultimately finishing in a chase group behind stage winner Sheffield.&nbsp;Crossing the line in Nice under sunny weather, Florian's consistent racing throughout the week secured second place in the general classification, finishing 1:15 behind overall winner Jorgenson, as well as the white jersey.&nbsp;&nbsp;<blockquote>Florian Lipowitz: After my performances last year, I definitely came into this race with some expectations. But to be honest, I never really thought about finishing on the podium. My goal was to fight for a spot in the top 10 of the GC. But as the race went on, I felt stronger each day, and the team did an incredible job positioning me and supporting me throughout. Their trust and hard work made a huge difference. To end up on the podium is something really special - something I didn’t expect but am incredibly proud of.&nbsp;I knew the weekend would be decisive, but especially after yesterday’s stage, I could feel that I had the legs to climb with the best. If I could hold my form on the final day, the podium was going to become a reality. It was a tough last stage, but I gave everything and was so happy to cross the finish line knowing I had done it.&nbsp;This result gives me a lot of confidence for sure. It was a tough week with challenging weather conditions, and I’m proud of how I handled it - not just physically, but mentally as well. Second place and white jersey for Florian Lipowitz after consistent week at Paris-Nice

With a tactically smart ride, Adrien Boichis claimed overall victory at the Istrian Spring Tour. The young Frenchman also secured the first-ever win in the history of the newly founded Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies team. Callum Thornley (Great Britain) completed the strong team performance by finishing third overall. The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies also won the team classification.Going into the final stage of the four-day tour through northern Croatia, Boichis was still sitting in second place in the overall standings. However, he secured three crucial bonus seconds in an intermediate sprint, which allowed him to overtake the previous leader, Spaniard Adrià Pericas (UAE Team Emirates Gen Z). For the 22-year-old, it was his first-ever victory in road racing. “Callum (Thornley) gave me the perfect lead-out for the sprint, and I made the most of it. After that, we controlled the race perfectly. We can be really pleased with our performance,” Boichis said at the finish line.Callum Thornley was not only a key support rider but also delivered an impressive result himself. In the final sprint of the last stage, the 21-year-old secured second place in the stage classification. The accompanying time bonus allowed him to climb further in the overall standings, finishing in a strong third place. “The perfect ending to a great week,” he commented. “Aside from the results, we also showed strong tactical awareness – that’s a great sign for the upcoming races,” Thornley concluded.Former Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider Cesare Benedetti served as the team’s sports director on-site. “Even without the victory, I would have been happy because the guys worked together perfectly and put in a really strong performance. The fact that we secured the overall win in our very first stage race makes me incredibly proud. Istrian Spring Tour: Adrien Boichis secures first victory for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies

Jai Hindley delivered a strong and steady performance to secure fifth place in the overall standings at Tirreno-Adriatico. The toughest challenge in the Italian WorldTour stage race, however, was not just the demanding climbs but also the adverse weather.Rain fell on most of the seven stages, and at times, the peloton also had to battle freezing cold. “Considering these circumstances, I'm really pleased with my form and my result. The mountain stages weren’t exactly in my wheelhouse, so it’s all the more rewarding to finish the race with a strong showing,” Jai said after the race.The sixth stage from Cartoceto to Frontignano was particularly grueling, combining tough climbs with extreme weather. “The cold and rain—that was by far the hardest day. But even the flatter stages took a toll, and the fatigue just kept piling up with each passing day,” Jai admitted after finishing the final stage in San Benedetto del Tronto.Now, Jai is looking to keep his momentum going. “The key goal is to build on this and carry the season forward as best as possible. I feel physically strong and want to use that to keep improving. Together with the team, we'll map out our next goals, but for now, it's all about maintaining this rhythm.”Photo: Gettysport
