Team Auto Eder is starting the 2023 season with a completely renewed squad of eight riders, all of whom are among the greatest international talents in their age group. At a training camp on Lake Garda, the BORA - hansgrohe U19 team has now entered the final phase of season preparation.
Full concentration on training and regeneration, tactical training and media appointments – two weeks before the start of the season at the Belgian spring classic Gent-Wevelgem, the season preparation of Team Auto Eder from Upper Bavaria is in full swing. At a training camp at Lake Garda in Italy, the juniors of the WorldTeam BORA - hansgrohe put the finishing touches on their preparation for the first races.
In addition to long basic endurance units, interval training and internal test races were also part of the programme. The eight riders around the sporting director Dr. Christian Schrot took full advantage of the excellent spring conditions in Italy and not only did their laps on the flat, but also diligently collected altitude metres. All in all, the athletes covered more than 1,000 kilometres during the twelve-day training camp.
During the training camp, organizational tasks such as aerodynamic and ergonomic tests as well as photo shoots were also on the agenda. Team building was also particularly important: six of the eight riders of the international team only joined the squad during the winter. During the twelve-day stay at the southern edge of the Alps, there were now enough opportunities to get to know each other and to strengthen the team spirit.
In the spring classics, which will start soon, this high level of commitment should now be reflected in top results. Already on 26 March, the U19 riders from Raubling will start at the Belgian one-day race Gent-Wevelgem. On 9 April, the U19 version of the famous cycling monument Paris-Roubaix is on the agenda.
