Places 2 and 4 in the GC, a stage win and the win of the team classification - it was a successful Tour of Türkiye for BORA - hansgrohe.
The 3rd stage with the difficult mountain-top finish on the Babadağ decided over the GC. Ben Zwiehoff climbed there and in the overall standings to 2nd place, which he did not give up until the final day in Istanbul. For Zwiehoff it is already the second podium at the end of a stage race this season after his 2nd place at the Czech Tour.
Ben Zwiehoff: „I am very happy with my second place. We knew that it would be very difficult to get the jersey from Lutsenko. But we tried everything and attacked again and again every day. Overall, it was a super race for us. For good reason we won the team classification and showed that we are a super strong squad."
Florian Lipowitz (4th) and Anton Palzer (10th) completed the very good team result for BORA - hansgrohe, which was rewarded by winning the team classification. The team's 1-2 on the 5th stage was impressive as well. Nico Denz won ahead of Matt Walls in the demanding final of Bodrum.
Bernie Eisel, Sport Director at the Tour of Türkiye: „All in all, it was a positive end to the season here in Turkey. The stages were challenging, but the guys rode very well. We also attacked again today on the final stage and tried everything. With the stage win and three men in the top 10, we left our mark on this race."
