Starting with the 2025 season, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe will launch a new U23 development team to fill the gap between the GRENKE - Auto Eder U19 and the WorldTeam. The new Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies will debut with, among others, four riders who previously raced for the junior team, including the new U19 World Champion, Lorenzo Finn. The team will be managed by Gregor Gazvoda, with an ambitious goal: to prepare young riders for the WorldTour while aiming for maximum success.The four U19 riders who are already part of the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe family are Theodor August Clemmensen (DEN), Paul Fietzke (GER), Lorenzo Finn (ITA), and Romet Pajur (EST). Clemmensen is a versatile rider, recently winning the Swiss stage race Grand Prix Rüebliland. Fietzke is a silver medalist in the road race at the 2023 U19 World Championships and a bronze and silver medalist at this year’s European Championships. Lorenzo Finn, the newly crowned junior world champion in the road race, will also be part of the team. Pajur, a fast-finishing allrounder, already raced for the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe U19 team in 2022. As of now, the following riders are also confirmed: Adrien Boichis (FRA), Davide Donati (ITA), Lennart Jasch (GER), Marco Martín (ESP), Sebastian Putz (AUT), Callum Thornley (GBR) and Luke Tuckwell (AUS).The new development team will be registered as a UCI Continental Team, riding under a German license. The team is managed by Grega Gazvoda, a former professional cyclist from Slovenia with years of experience both as a rider and in team management. Mit Beginn der Saison 2025 wird Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe mit einem U23 Development Team an den Start gehen. In the final WorldTour race of the year, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe secured another top result. For Giovanni Aleotti, sixth place in the overall standings marked his first-ever top-ten finish in a WorldTour stage race.The final WorldTour race of the season — today’s sixth stage of the Tour of Guangxi offered riders and teams one last chance to fight for top results and WorldTour points. Indeed, the 134-kilometer route around Nanning was filled with numerous attacks, but there were no significant changes in the overall standings anymore. The good news for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe: Giovanni Aleotti held onto his sixth place in the general classification, finishing 25 seconds behind the overall winner Lennert Van Eetvelt. This secured another top result for the German team at the season’s end.For Aleotti, the sixth-place finish was one of the highlights of his career so far — and his first-ever top-ten result in a WorldTour stage race. The joy of the 25-year-old Italian, who has been riding for our team for four years, was evident at the finish line: “It’s been a long season, so I’m happy to end it with a good result. I’m also pleased that I was able to prove to myself that I can compete at the front when I get my chance,” said Aleotti. This year, he raced on a total of 85 days, including the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España. Für Giovanni Aleotti war der sechste Rang in der Gesamtwertung die erste Platzierung unter den besten Zehn bei einem WorldTour-Etappenrennen überhaupt.Das finale WorldTour-Rennen der Saison – die heutige sechste Etappe der Tour of Guangxi bot den Fahrern und Teams ein letztes Mal die Chance, um Topplatzierungen und WorldTour-Punkte zu kämpfen. Der 134 Kilometer lange Tagesabschnitt rund um Nanning war zwar von zahlreichen Attacken geprägt – entscheidende Veränderungen in der Gesamtwertung gab es allerdings nicht mehr. Die erfreuliche Nachricht für Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe: Giovanni Aleotti behielt seinen guten sechsten Platz in der Gesamtwertung – 25 Sekunden hinter dem Gesamtsieger Lennert Van Eetvelt. Damit holte die deutsche Mannschaft zum Saisonabschluss ein weiteres Topergebnis.Für Aleotti selbst war der sechste Rang eines seiner bisherigen Karriere-Highlights – und seine erste Top-Ten-Platzierung bei einem WorldTour-Etappenrennen überhaupt. Dementsprechend groß war im Ziel die Freude des 25-jährigen Italieners, der seit vier Jahren für unsere Mannschaft fährt: „Es war eine lange Saison, daher bin ich froh, sie mit einem guten Ergebnis zu beenden. Auch freue ich mich, dass ich mir selbst beweisen konnte, dass ich vorn mitfahren kann, wenn ich meine Chance bekomme“, so Aleotti. In insgesamt 85 Renntagen hatte er dieses Jahr unter anderem den Giro d’Italia und die Vuelta a España bestritten. Im Juni konnte er zudem die Gesamtwertung bei der Slowenien-Rundfahrt gewinnen.Zufrieden zeigte sich auch der Shane Archbold, der als Sportlicher Leiter vor Ort war: „Wir sind glücklich, die Saison mit einem positiven Ergebnis abschließen zu können. Ich freue mich auch persönlich für Giovanni. Er ist ein fantastischer Fahrer, der sehr viel Arbeit für das Team leistet und in diesem Jahr unter anderem zwei Grand-Tours bestritten hat. At the halfway point of the Tour of Guangxi, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe is right on track in the stage race through southern China. Filip Maciejuk, in particular, has been in the spotlight during the first three stages.The final stage race of the year – the Tour of Guangxi traditionally holds a special place in the WorldTour calendar. For riders and teams, the six-day stage race is the last chance of the season to collect points for the WorldTour ranking before the long winter break begins.With Emanuel Buchmann, Emil Herzog, Luis-Joe Lührs, Maximilian Schachmann (all from Germany), Giovanni Aleotti (Italy), Alexander Hajek (Austria), and Filip Maciejuk (Poland), Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe sent a strong lineup to China. The goal: a top result in the overall classification. “Giovanni and Max, in particular, are here to perform well in the GC,” explains Shane Archbold, the team’s Sports Director on site.On the opening stages, however, it was another Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe athlete who took the spotlight: Filip Maciejuk. The Pole was part of the breakaway on the second stage, leading the race for an impressive 179 kilometers before being caught just 500 meters from the finish line. Thanks to bonus seconds picked up along the way, he also claimed the white jersey for the best young rider for a day. “Even though we just missed the victory, I’m happy to wear a classification jersey at the end of the season,” Maciejuk said at the finish. Archbold is equally pleased: “The plan was to get in the break and fight for the stage win. Although the group was caught, Filip maximized his effort on the day.”After stage three, Maciejuk had to hand back the white jersey, but Archbold sees his team well on track for their big goals at this year’s Tour of Guangxi: “Both of our leaders are within striking distance in the general classification. Tomorrow and on the fifth day, the race will be decided. Especially the mountain finish the day after tomorrow will be the real test,” he explains. Dank unterwegs eingesammelter Bonussekunden eroberte er zudem für einen Tag das weiße Trikot des besten Nachwuchsfahrers. „Auch wenn wir es knapp nicht ins Ziel geschafft haben, freue ich mich, am Ende der Saison ein Wertungstrikot tragen zu dürfen“, sagte Maciejuk im Ziel. Auch Archbold freut sich: „Der Plan war, in die Gruppe zu gehen und um den Etappensieg zu kämpfen. Da die Gruppe aber wieder eingeholt wurde, hat Filip an diesem Tag das Maximum herausgeholt.“Nach der dritten Etappe musste Maciejuk das weiße Trikot zwar wieder abgeben, Archbold sieht sein Team aber voll im Plan für die großen Ziele bei der diesjährigen Tour of Guangxi: „Unsere beiden Kapitäne sind im Gesamtklassement auf Schlagdistanz. Morgen und am fünften Tag wird sich das Rennen dann entscheiden.
